The African Australian Islamic Association (AAIA) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established in Sydney in 1999.

We serve as a unifying body for African Muslims across Australia, dedicated to spiritual guidance, cultural connection, and community empowerment.

AAIA provides a platform for worship, learning, and service, fostering unity among diverse African communities while promoting understanding between Muslims and the wider Australian society. Through our educational, social, and outreach programs, we work to uplift individuals and families, strengthen faith, and inspire collective responsibility. 

Our vision is to be an exemplary and unifying Islamic organisation in Australia, particularly within New South Wales, that contributes to the betterment of the Muslim community and society at large.

Our mission is to provide religious, educational, and social services that reflect Islamic principles and values.

We aim to:

• Support Muslim communities through inclusive programs and outreach.

• Foster understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims.

• Assist vulnerable individuals and families, including orphans, the elderly, widows, refugees, and those facing financial or medical hardship.

At AAIA, we believe in compassion, service, and unity as pathways to strengthening our community and our faith.

The African Australian Islamic Association (AAIA) is a community-based organisation that fosters cultural connection, religious practice, and social cohesion among African Muslims in Australia. It supports African Australian Muslim families, youth, and elders, while also welcoming potential new members into the community. 

AAIA operates entirely on voluntary efforts, with members representing African nations across the continent.

Our initiatives include:

• Establishing and maintaining an Islamic Centre and Masjid for prayer, learning, and cultural exchange.

• Running youth and family programs that nurture leadership, education, and moral values.

• Providing scholarships, counselling, and community support services.

• Promoting interfaith understanding and cooperation.
